Suit Fitting
Suit fitting refers to the step of the tailoring process where one is required to try on the suit to get the right sizing. Here at Michael Tailors, we arrange a suit fitting session at our store or at the comfort of your own place. Once you have tried it on, specialists will check and ensure that you are satisfied with the fit. Depending on how the suit fits on you, another fitting might be needed to determine the right fit for your body. In this case, we will schedule a follow-up fitting to perfect your garment.
Different Fittings to be Carried Out

Baste Fitting
When it comes to suit fittings, there are two rounds of fittings that are to be carried out. The first one is referred to as the ‘baste fitting’ where you are trying on the suit that was basted together for the first time before it gets fully assembled. Upon trying it on, the tailor then reviews how the suit looks on you before using a chalk to mark any points to adjust if needed.

Forward Fitting
The second type of fitting is referred to as the ‘forward fitting’ where you try on the suit again after the first round of adjustments have been made. At this point, the fit of the suit is more or less finalized, giving you the chance for any final adjustments to be made. Once this is done, the last phase of hand-stitching, such as crafting handmade buttonholes and hand-sewing the buttons begins. Once that is over, the suit will then be ready for collection.

Conclusion
Here at Michael Tailors, we are proud of our precision and skills, allowing us to conduct the fitting only once. However, if there are any further adjustments needed, we are more than happy to assist you until you get the perfect fit for your suit.
